Comtadine and Provençal traditions

Immerse yourself in Comtadine and Provençal history and traditions in Pernes-les-Fontaines by visiting the Comtadine Traditions Museum and the Comtadin costume museum, both dedicated to the local culture that is still present today. In these places, you will learn more about the customs and traditions of the region such as the 13 Christmas desserts in Provence but also about the traditional outfits that men and women wore a few centuries ago. These two museums exhibit superb collections of works and objects preserved to perfection, thus highlighting the richness of the city and of the Comtat Venaissin.

Art and history

Pernes-les-Fontaines and Monteux also have numerous museums dedicated to History, such as the Resistance Museum, which exhibits a multitude of objects and accounts of the Second World War as well as the resistance movement of the canton of Pernes-les-Fontaines, or the bicycle museum that traces the history of the bicycle, from its invention to its improvements until today. In these two towns, there are also the Old fashioned School Museum and the Museum of the Old School, both of which will immerse you in the classrooms from the last century with many old collector's items that are a must see!

Art is also in the spotlight here with the Micro-Folie museums which, thanks to hundreds of masterpieces from 12 national institutions and museums, allow you to (re) discover great works in digital form but also to try virtual reality!
