It is not surprising to see this cultural site in Pernes-les-Fontaines when you know that Paul de Vivie is one of its children, but that he became above all the father of cycle touring in addition to being a very good writer. Between the 19th and 20th centuries, he was the one who popularized cycling and its benefits, and contributed to the improvement of cycles such as gear changes for example! Even today, Paul de Vivie dit Vélocio is considered to be the emblematic figure of cycling tourism in France.
Located in L'Hôtel de Cheylus, the Cycle Museum pays tribute to him but above all presents more than a century of evolution of the cycle: from the Grand Bi or the tricycle in 1880 to the Paris-Beijing bike in 2008 , including the Randonneuring of the best fashion designers of the Sixties cycle or even the historic tandem of the first paid leaves in 1936.
But the technical evolution of racing bikes also has its place, from Fageot in 1895 with fixed wheels and tyre of wheel to the Colnago in 1973, all Campagnolo, but also biggest brands bikes that won the "Tour de France".
An educational trail that will delight the curiosity of children or amateurs and will meet the expectations of experienced cyclists.

-From March 30 to April 28 on Saturdays and Sundays from 2.30 p.m. to 6 p.m. (Also opening on March 29 and April 1 for 'Easter in Provence')
-From April 29 to May 31 every day except Tuesday from 2.30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
-From June 1 to June 28 every day except Tuesday from 15:30 to 19:00
-From June 29 to September 29 every day except Tuesday from 10:15 to 12:30 and from 15:30 to 19:00
