: Located outside the city center and the ramparts existing at the time in the 17th and 18th centuries, this chapel was built in order to repel the evil that plagued the territory and therefore to spare the inhabitants. It was decorated with a sacristy around 1640, a nativity chapel in 1663, its bell tower was rebuilt in 1727 and the facade was completely restored in 1954.
A symbol of hope during the pandemic, it was transformed in 1720 into an infirmary for some time for plague victims. Notre Dame des Grâces was finally sold during the revolution, also leading to the confiscation of religious objects before being recovered by the religious and became a place of worship again in 1866.
Every year, the Montilians meet in front of the chapel to celebrate the Saint-Gens pilgrimage, a tradition dear to the inhabitants.
