The birth of the domain
The Brantes estate was established by the Del Bianco family from 1619, originally from Florence, settled in Avignon with the charge of paymaster of the pontifical troops. The castle of Sorgues, their summer residence, was built in 1700.
The evolution of the field
It was then extended and surrounded by a plane tree forest (unique in France) in 1816, by General de Cessac and his wife Sibylle de Brantes, grandmother of the current owners.
Sybille de Brantes planted the magnificent magnolia grandi flora that is structured around three mirror pond designed by the Danish landscape designer Mogens Tvede, where the Sorgue, so dear to Petrarch, flows.

This Tuscan-inspired garden lives to the rhythm of the blossoms of its camellias, tree peonies, snow fairy roses, etc. in all shades of green and white that contrasts with the wild meadow and its educational vegetable garden.
Animations at the domain
For more than 20 years, the garden has welcomed schoolchildren, led workshops for young and old, and welcomed artists in residence.
Starting in April, we personalize conferences, concerts, tea tastings with garden flowers and wine, as well as meals with Provençal flavors; aperitifs under the plane trees, floral workshops with Blandine Viry 'Atti Fleurs'.
Come and discover a place of creation, innovation, exchange, culture, sharing in a friendly atmosphere.
