Surrounded by fields and rivers, Althen des Paluds is a charming Provençal village. Located at the crossroads of the most beautiful natural and cultural sites of Vaucluse, it offers a preserved quality of life while benefiting from its proximity to Avignon and Carpentras. He sees life in red! Johannes Althounian, known as Jean Althen, brought prosperity to this territory in the 18th century by establishing the culture of madder, which is why, in memory of this man, the ancient malarial marsh bears his name. Land of water, it is surrounded by canals called Mayres and this blue thread intrinsically linked to its heritage leads you to the Moulin des Gaffins, to the Pont Naquet and to Saint Albergaty, an ancient hamlet with an atypical architecture.

Combining rurality and modernity, the city comes alive to the rhythm of its activities, festivals and traditions. Each year, its Christmas market is organized with passion, you wander from chalet to chalet in an atmosphere specific to Alsatian Christmas markets: magical, friendly, with a soul, a child's soul! Let yourself be seduced by this authentic land, its walks along the banks of the Sorgue, its photography salon, the arts, its history... You got it, Althen des Paluds is a whole art of living!
