A bike route to discover Comtat Venaissin

Starting from Pernes-les-Fontaines, cycle through the ancient center and its many monuments such as the Porte Notre-Dame, the Tower of Clock Tower or the Ferrande Tower and take the small peaceful country roads to reach Carpentras and its rich built heritage including the oldest Synagogue in France. Visit small towns typical of Provence such as Mazan, Saint-Didier or even Venasque, a hilltop village classified as “Most beautiful villages in France” from which you will get a superb view of the surroundings!

Between vines and land

Throughout the itinerary, you can also discover the agricultural and wine lands of Vaucluse and visit numerous AOC Ventoux wine estates.

This course is a great opportunity to taste local specialties and the Provençal region. With, among others, the strawberry from Carpentras, the cherry from Venasque, and superb almond fields in Saint-Didier, this loop will allow you to learn about local gastronomy and meet producers in the region. Take a break to visit the various markets in Pernes-les-Fontaines on Saturday and Wednesday (from April to October), the Carpentras market on Friday and the Venasque market on Friday also on Friday but only in season.
