Although it does not present major difficulties, the Piégros trail course remains challenging , as it consists of an alternation of rises and slopes.
Mostly on magnificent singles in the woods, some parts are more exposed and rocky to remind us that we are in Provence.
Throughout the circuit, you will also discover small rural heritage structures, such as the Carpentras Canal, an incredible technical feat whose construction dates back to the 18th century, or even numerous dry stone constructions, such as dry-stone wall terraces, witnesses of the agricultural past of these hills. Moreover, agriculture has not completely disappeared, and you will sometimes have to walk along fields of cherry trees, vineyards or olive trees.
The departure is from the car park of the sensitive natural area of Les Platrières, located on Chemin de Fonblanque in Pernes-les-Fontaines.
There are two possible routes:
• An introduction loop of 5 km and approximately 135 m of elevation gain
• A more demanding loop, of 12 km and 370 m of elevation gain
