A haven of peace surrounded by nature
The Voie des Papes in Sorgues, in Vaucluse, offers a safe route for pedestrians and cyclists, connecting the city center of Sorgues and the municipal park to the island of Oiselay, a greenery island located in the arms of the Rhône. It was named this way in homage to the history of Sorgues, which formerly housed a papal palace.
The Voie des Papes, crossing the Ouvèze thanks to a footbridge which provides easy access to the countryside and the banks of the river from the heart of the city. This fitted out route is an ideal bike link to reach the Via Rhôna or the Sorgues (TER) train station. Beyond the Voie des Papes and its footbridge, hundreds of kilometers of bike paths are available to cycling enthusiasts, the Via Rhôna making it possible to join Lake Geneva to the Mediterranean.
With its paths winding along the banks of the Ouvèze and Rhône rivers to the Île de l'Oiselay, the Voie des Papes offers a quiet stroll for families, friends or even cycling enthusiasts.
