Pernes les Fontaines is located in the heart of the AOC Ventoux appellation. Formerly 'Côtes du Ventroux' since 1973, the appellation was renamed AOC Ventoux in 2008.

Since 2009 it has been possible for producers who request it to use the name AOP. You will find the 'Domaine de la Camarette', and the 'Domaine des Hauts Traversiers', family vineyard in Pernes les Fontaines and Clauvallis, the 'Vignerons Paysans', a cooperative cellar in Saint Didier.
