The Via Rhôna in Vaucluse

The Via Rhôna crosses Vaucluse for about 63 kilometers. It offers a two-stage route that includes some sections in greenways and others in shared routes crossing magnificent Provence. Along the way, discover a territory rich in heritage, local products, lifestyle, vineyards and exceptional landscapes. The Vaucluse itinerary starts in Lapalud to join the Donzère Canal later. Approaching Mornas, the route runs along the banks of the Rhône by taking a greenway to Avignon, via Caderousse and Sorgues.

In Sorgues, it is the Himalayan footbridge suspended over the Rhône, between Île de L'Oiselet and Île de la Motte in Sauveterre, which makes it possible to complete the connection of the Via Rhôna to the north of Avignon. Take advantage of this trip to Sorgues to discover the Île de l'Oiselet, rich in fauna and flora as well as in heritage with the Pont des Arméniers, an atypical bridge suspended over one of the arms of the Rhône, classified as a Historic Monument since 2001.

The advantages of the course:

  • Mornas Fortress
  • Medieval villages: Mondragon, Mornas, Piolenc
  • Roman city of Orange and its classified monuments, the ancient theater and the triumphal arch of Orange, classified as World Heritage by Unesco
  • Views over the Rhone Valley Mornas
