Pernes les Fontaines has a long tradition of fine crafts in various sectors such as cabinet-making, stone carver, upholstery, cutlery, metalworker, decoration, the paintings restoration, jewelry, pottery... which led the city to be certified 'Cities and Crafts of Arts' in 1998!
For lovers, an unmissable event takes place every year at the end of October, it is the "Rencontres des Métiers d'Arts":
'Journey into the world of creation, restoration or repair, an appointment with these craftspeople who join the delicate and fragile balance between the perfect control of the technique and the creation of the artwork, new or old. Find more than 60 craftspeople, master artisans, living heritage companies, students from École Boulle and prestigious schools, or simple recognized autodidacts who will make you discover their original and breathtaking creations. The "Espace Talents d'Ici", a true showcase of local know-how, was created within the Tourist Office in 2011, and an association bringing together artisans from the historic center, called the "Ateliers de Pernes", was created, bringing together fifteen rare and prestigious professions.
