Saffron, an exceptional spice. It comes from the agricultural production of Crocus sativus. Highly prized for thousands of years, it is derived from the flowers of this plant. Saffron is a spice with numerous gastronomic and pharmaceutical properties that you can obtain only by appointment at the farm of: Ludwig Hauwelle, saffron from the 'Douleurs du Comtat'...

A safranier since 2009, his farm has been certified in Organic Agriculture since 2016. It is located in Monteux in Vaucluse on an area of 0.5ha, surrounded by house animals and located in a Natura 2000 area.

Here, the cultivation of SAFFRON is done by hand from A to Z: the planting of the bulbs (July/August), the harvest (November, picking the flowers every morning) and the pruning (separation of the pistils carried out on freshly picked flowers). The pistils collected will then be dried under controlled temperature in order to preserve all their aromas and benefits. In addition, 300m2 of rosebushes were planted in October, in order to produce food preparations based on ROSE.
