Costa Ismaël

Coming from a family originally from Barcelona in Spain, Ismaël has lived in Provence since the age of nine. His childhood was devoted to the practice of drawing, and more particularly to the comic book genre, which he was a fan of. As a teenager, his interest led him more towards the study of portraiture. Ismaël began working at the age of sixteen, first as a cartoonist for a publishing house, then worked as an illustrator in a Parisian communication agency.
However, despite a profession focused on the use of pencil, the young artist returned to the south of France and devoted himself to the pleasures of pictorial creation. It was in 2006 that Ismaël fulfilled his wish, by opening his artistic business in the city of Monteux, located in the heart of the Vaucluse department.

Combining acrylic paints, oil paints, spray cans, oil pastels, Ismaël Costa alias Costa.i shows figurative works executed with great freedom of movement using a palette of candid and varied tones, thus giving them a resolutely dynamic and contemporary character.
