The tradition of Saint Gens, the artificers and the culture of Provence
Thus our history has forged our traditions and traditions, those of our identity. They are what we are, that is why we perpetuate them. We honor our rainmaker, Gens, Patron Saint of the city, we award the Saboly Prize, for the preservation of our Provençal culture and we set off a big fireworks display every year in Monteux, which was the cradle of pyrotechnics. There were up to 5 factories in Monteux where generations of Montilians worked in the Ruggieri workshops and some lost their lives there. Today, the fireworks left remain our big fireworks display, a fire of art and testing, benefiting from a preview of the latest innovations in this field.
