Art of living

If we say the words sun, petanque, nap, relaxation, would you come? Living is an art for us in Provence

Booklet 'Christmas in Provence'

For Provençals, Christmas is the most beautiful holiday of the year, the most solemn, the one that is celebrated with the most joy, love, meditation, sincerity and traditions. Frédéric Mistral, our master, describes to us, with his usual genius, the atmosphere of this celebration, in his book 'Memory and storytelling'.

In Provence, Christmas begins on December 4, Saint Barbara's Day, and ends on Candlemas on February 2. These two months of calendar holidays are all the history and the wealth of the Provençal people, with meals, traditional dishes, customs such as Saint Barbara wheat, the nativity scene, the cacho fio, the Three Wise Men and the Christmases of Saboly.

Book 'Pouèmé von Conté Escavarta'

The art of living... It is also the Provençal language! Discover this book of poems and stories by Roger Tourrette, a truly Comtadine work entirely in Provençal. These writings are the testimony of a local life with its traditions, its strengths, its strengths, its loves, its sorrows; Roger Tourrette, a native of Pernes for many generations, is a true peasant poet who sings Pernes and his childhood at the Portail Neuf with his fountain, his chapel and his people.

Roger is pleased to offer us his writings in Provençal, our language sung by Frédéric Mistral, and he did so in the year 2004, the year of the centenary of the Nobel Prize of the Master of Maillane and the fiftieth anniversary of the creation of Le Félibrige.
